Over the years, most airlines have enforced stricter Baggage allowance policies. Carry on Allowance Each passenger on board Alaska Airlines is allowed to carry on one bag and one personal item with a maximum dimension of 24 x 17 x 10 inches/61 x 17 x 10 cm (length x width x height).
Checked Baggage Allowance

You can carry two checked bags provided each of these falls within the following permissible limits:
• Weighing not more than 50 lb/23 kg
• Not exceeding 62 linear inches/157 cm (length + width + height)

Excess Baggage Rules

If your baggage exceeds the permissible limits of free baggage allowance, you're required to pay additional fee based on quantity, weight and size. For each bag weighing 51-70 lb, you'll be charged an additional amount of $25, and for bags between 70- 100 lb the fee is $50 each. There is a fee of $50 for every bag between 63 and 80 inches, and $75 for bags between 80- 115 inches. Bags weighing over 100 lbs and exceeding 115 inches are not accepted. The rates for additional pieces of baggage are- $50 each for 1-3 pieces, $75 each for 4 -6 pieces and $150 each for 7 and up.

Delayed Lost Damaged Baggage

Delayed or damaged bags should be reported in person to the Alaska Airlines baggage office within 24 hours of arrival time. It's important to retain copies of your ticket, baggage claim check and any receipts you may have accumulated for expenses incurred as a result of the mishandling. Sports Equipment

Some sporting equipment (snow skis, golf clubs), may be checked in lieu of one piece of luggage, if packaged in a suitable container. Sporting equipment checked in addition to the free baggage allowance is charged an excess fee. There is a fee charged in all situations for some equipment (surfboards, scuba gear).
