  Barcelona,Copenhagen to be included by Qatar Airways

Qatar AirwaysQatar Airways has stated that Copenhagen and Barcelona will shortly be put on its ever-expanding route network during the summer schedule by end of March, 2010.

As the airlines is presently serving Stockholm, Sweden's capital, non-stop from Doha, the beginning of four weekly flights to Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, would enhance its Scandinavian presence. After Copenhagen, the airline has developed strategies to reinforce its presence in Scandinavia and in Spain with Barcelona being the subsequent city to be connected by Qatar Airlines after Madrid.

With six novel routes on the horizon, Qatar Airways will enhance its global portfolio from 85 to 91 diverse business and leisure cities across Europe, Middle East, Africa, South Asia, Far East, North America and Australasia. The airline presently operates a contemporary fleet of 76 aircrafts.

Qatar Airways chief executive officer Akbar Al Bakr stated that the airline's business model continues to be flourishing and Qatar Airways is looking towards yet another exciting year, with 2010 turning out to be the busiest.

Qatar Airways has been awarded the Best Business Class Airline in China at the China Travel & Meeting Industry Awards,which was held in Beijing.The airline's Senior Vice President Commercial Operations East Asia & South West Pacific, Marwan Koleilat received the honor from the Vice President of Ctrip.com, Shaw Ding.

The Travel & Meeting Industry Awards is prepared by Travel Weekly China, a chief trade journal in the Chinese travel industry. The award had its debut in 2002 and since then the awards have received extensive appreciation among industry people. Nearly 30,000 readers and subscribers of Travel Weekly China as well as 32,000 enterprises and travel buyers, who attended July's China Incentive and Business Travel Meeting Exhibition (CIBTM), participated in the survey.The eminent panel of judges included 20 peak industry specialists from every section of the travel as well as tourism industry.

Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker stated that it is a great privilege to receive this award for the best levels of service and hospitality offered by Qatar Airways.
