| United Airlines Shifted to Cash Free Environment on Transatlantic, Brazil and Argentina Flights |

Business Class Travel » Business Class Travel News Business Class Travel NewsTuesday, September 1, 2009 United Airlines announced that from September 2nd,the airline will allow merely credit and debit cards for the majority of on-board purchases on Transatlantic flights as well as on flights to and from Brazil and Argentina.In order to speed up cabin service, offer receipts and boost efficiency, cash will no longer be accepted onboard these flights, apart from duty-free purchases. The carrier initiated the EasyPurchase programme in March and ceased accepting cash on-board flights inside United States and flights to and from Canada, Mexico, Central America as well as the Caribbean from April 2009.United Airlines will be accepting all chief credit cards, including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and Diners Club, as well as debit cards with the Visa or MasterCard logos. United Airlines will continue to accept cash in addition to credit and debit cards on flights to and from Asia. Additionally , cash will be the acknowledged form of payment on United Express flights. Feedback provided by several customers in online surveys established wide acceptance for a cash-free environment. Lynda Coffman, managing director-Onboard Design and Strategy said that passengers welcome the simplicity and the pace with which cashless transactions can be done onboard.
