Business Class Travel » Business Class Travel News Business Class Travel NewsSunday, August 2, 2009 The head of British Airways'American operations has conveyed that the market for business fall which had been plummeting from the beginning of the recession would take atleast 5 years to recover.First class as well as business class has conventionally been the source of revenue of British Airways.But the recession has caused the alter of the situation in a drastic way.Simon Talling-Smith,the executive vice president for British Airways in the Americas held that most of the businesses were reducing their travel costs and most companies were shifting their senior employees to economy class or depending on video conferencing instead of in person meetings.![]() Simon Talling-Smith said that it will take British Airways longer than 5 years before the complete value of the business market returns.Presently businesses are accommodating more people into economy class. He also added that the business and first class business volumes have dropped by around 15 per cent, but economy volumes have sinked by around 1 per cent for the 6 months till June 2009.
