International Baggage Policies

One of the most significant factors to consider when booking tickets with some airline is the baggage policies. As far as the international baggage policies is concerned, there are different luggage policies and it differs from countries, territories, states, airlines, and sometimes even airports may have different luggage travel policies. As with the vast majority of national and international carriers, there are certain weight and size requirements. Allowances for carry-on bags and checked belongings for international flights must be verified with each airline.

Irrespective of the destination and airline, commuters must always be mindful of checking the baggage policies sooner than booking the air tickets.

Carry-On Luggage:
Having its own restrictions with quantity, size and weight, international flights always allow carry-on luggage. International carriers can occasionally have limits on this type of baggage so a rule of thumb for carry-on baggage is to have a maximum size of 45-inches. Since airlines can change their policy per flight even at the last moment, it is always recommended that you go for a smaller bag.

Personal Items:
In addition to your carry-on suitcase such as a backpack, purse or laptop most airlines allow one personal carry-on item. Make sure that the personal item is small enough and doesn’t exceed a total dimension of 36-inches.
